Anastacia Lyn Newkirk comes from Chicago, Illinois, born on 17th Sept 1968.

She sings and writes her own songs. Apart from being popular all over the world (but not US that much), she also remained in the spotlight when she told the world in '03 that she has breast cancer.

On a personal front, she entered the world of married people in Apr '07 with Wayne Newton, after dating for 3 years. Apart from suffering from breast cancer, she also had problems with her sight (hence the glasses all the time) but she got laser-eye surgery in ug '05.

She's been in the music world since '98. Her first album came out at the beginning of new century. 3 times platinum Downunder, the single "I'm Outta Love" was at the top of the lists in AU and NZ. Apart from the "Not that Kind" album, she released 3 more with the latest one being in '08 "Heavy Rotation". She released 2 DVDs and one compilation CD in '05. Altogether so far, she did 4 tours, with the last 2 being in '09.

As well as singing, she also appeared in Ally McBeal ('01), Divas 2002 ('02), Nelson Mandela's AIDS Day Concert ('03) and Concert for Diana ('07). So far she has been nominated 51 times and won 39, thanks to her powerful voice. MTV Europe Music Awards are the top of the list in the awards Anastacia won, along with World Music Awards and Swedish Hit Music Awards. In '09 she also won World Artist Award by Women's World Awards. She is also an activist apart from a singer, and was involved in Life Ball '06, Make a Difference and Challenge for the Children.

Ever since she discovered she has cancer, Anastacia formed The Anastacia Fund along with the makeup house Estee Lauder and the main point of the foundation is to make more women under 35 aware of this disease.
